With three PPC permit sites in the UK covering the North, Central and South our recycling centres are ideally placed for the recycling of all battery waste. Our sites in Glasgow and Harlow have unique lamp recycling equipment capable of processing all lamp types from linear fluorescent lamps to sodium (SOX) lamps. With mercury distillation on site and a zero landfill policy the sites are market leading and give a single audit trial for the recycling of lamps as well as batteries containing mercury. The flagship site in Huddersfield is probably the UK’s (if not Europe’s) largest WEEE recycling site and the only one in the UK to have a PPC license, additionally it is the only site in the UK permitted and capable of processing lamps, mercury, batteries and electrical waste on one site. Equipment at Huddersfield in exclusive to matrix and not available anywhere else in Europe capable of processing 20 tons of electrical waste per hour, over 800 CRT’s (televisions and computer monitors) per hour and a 80 million lamp capacity recycling plant. With further investment made in cord set recycling the site has the equipment to handle all electrical returns with a full recycling capability with a zero landfill policy. We are currently carrying out trials on battery recycling technology for the recycling of Alkaline, Ni-CAD and Lithium ION batteries and already recycle mercury containing batteries such as button cell units. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |
