matrix-direct recycle
Company Background...

The Battery Recycling Company has been formed to respond to the incoming Battery Directive in 2008 to establish itself as one of the first companies in the UK to specifically focus on battery recycling.

Part of the Lampcare (UK) Recycling Group of companies our company has already collected and has partners in place to recycle all types of batteries. For a number of years we have collected, sorted and recycled batteries using our own fleet of vehicles form box vans to articulated vehicles with demountable fork lift trucks.

We have successfully purchased bespoke containers for the correct storage and handling of all battery types pending collection for recycling.

Our state of the art electrical and electronic recycling plant for WEEE in Huddersfield covering a 5.5 acre site with over 100,000 square feet of warehousing compliments our other two recycling centres in Glasgow and Harlow recycling lamps.

With three PPC (Prevention from Pollution Control) licensed sites with SEPA and the Environment Agency already in operation we have all the correct licensing in place to collect and recycle batteries.

Through our recycling division Matrix Direct Recycle we have three mercury distillation plants for the recycling of phosphor powder from fluorescent lamps, this system is also used for the distillation of mercury from batteries making our sites the only ones in the UK to be able to handle electrical waste, lamps and battery recycling under one roof.
